History of the Castle

Chateau Charmant is a labor of love for Bob & Bonnie Palmer  & their daughter Brittany.  After moving to Fordland, Mo. from southern California end of 2003, Robert sent Bonnie a drawing of a castle like home, with the words "I want to build you a castle" scrawled across the bottom.  After several objections, Bonnie acquiesced and from that sketch grew Chateau Charmant, inspired by a magnificent 13th century French Chateau.  Almost all of the work has been done by the Palmers'.  It is believed to be one of the largest castle built by the smallest crew in the world.
